Is it just me or does the world want to see House and Cuddy get it on?
This is my first September in 19 years that I haven’t returned to school. Usually, this was a bittersweet time of the year; with the weather still lovely but spent in a classroom setting, and a new television season upon me.
Here are some shows that are certainly worth watching.
House
This is proof that FOX might not be so incredibly bad after all. If you’re a fan of curmudgeonly, Vicadin-addicted doctors then this is the show for you. English funnyman Hugh Laurie (Blackadder, Jeeves and Wooster) returns to play the genius diagnostician. Season 7 begins September 21, 2010.
Glee
Alright. Make that a second argument for FOX. For someone who completely loathes musicals, this popular comedy/drama grew on me. The next season promises Lady Gaga and the whole Coldplay catalogue. Tune in also on September 21, 2010.
Dexter
A Showtime production. Not too long ago I wrote about this. The previous season was extremely titillating. The serial killing resumes September 26, 2010.
Modern Family
Screenwriter Christopher Lloyd (Frasier, Wings) has saved Ed O’Neill’s career by creating a ten-fold improved version of Married With Children. This mockumentary-style television series is hilarious. Watch the second season sometime this month… I haven’t been able to find an airing date.

I’m so glad someone made a mash up of this. It’s uncanny!
It’s very clear that “Don’t Turn Around” and “Alejandro” are the same song. At least, the same pop formula.
Thanks to jproc911 for making this, it’s perfect.

In less than 12 hours after its world premier, the video for “Telephone” hit more than half a million views. A day in, and it’s looking like it will hit 15 mil.
The best part as it has attempted to debunk the myth that Lady Gaga has a dick—a humorous possibility that has reached the proportion of an urban legend. I’m still not completely convinced though. The collaboration with Beyonce, musically, is fruitful. The acting could use a bit of work.
The video was directed in the style of a Quentin Tarantino film, with a plot reminiscent of the Kill Bill films, and contemplative one-liners and non-sequiturs. Lesbian jail scene, you’ve got that too.
Watch the epic video here! Perhaps someone can explain the undeserved Americana dance in the diner.

Some call it ridiculous, others call it the making of history. One thing is sure: the Internet viral video was spawned from the technological womb of the 00’s.
With a bit of research I found what the five most globally watched viral videos of 2009 were. According to Viral Video Chart, these were also the most viral videos of all time.
5. Surprised Kitty
With 20,545,960 views to date, this adorable little critter has brought tears of joy to many… even to those who don’t enjoy the feline persuasion.

4. The Muppets: Bohemian Rhapsody
Probably one of the best instances of culture mashing. Beautiful.

3. Susan Boyle: Britain’s Got Talent
In a world where we place pop stars in accordance to a strict rubric of attractiveness + talent, Susan Boyle blew everyone’s minds. We’re so incredibly shallow. Can’t we assume a dowdy middle aged spinster with a single bushy eyebrow would have a beautiful voice? Shame on you.

2. Pianotrappan
It’s Swedish, with a quirky take on social media. We need more of these.

1. Lady Gaga: Bad Romance
I’ve got a soft spot for Lady Gaga. Part androgynous woman, part alien with an eye popping aesthetic, she’s caught the world by storm. With a whopping 62,062,116 views, Lady Gaga takes the cake. Ooh la la.
